The Urban and Regional Planning program is developed in accordance with international accreditation standards, including FIBAA (2021–2026) and AUN-QA (from 2026). The curriculum is designed to be modern, flexible, and practice-oriented, emphasizing integrated planning, urban management, and urban design to meet the long-term needs of society, domestic and international companies, and public authorities.
The program aims to train professional planning engineers with integrated thinking and the ability to address complex urban and regional development challenges.
One of the program’s key strengths is its international collaboration, including student exchanges, design studios, seminars, and workshops with international students, professors, and experts. These activities help students gain global perspectives, stay updated with new planning trends, and identify their own strengths and areas for development.
In addition, the Urban and Regional Planning program strongly encourages students to participate in scientific research, fostering academic curiosity and providing a foundation for future research or advanced studies after graduation.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ACQUIRED
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- Understand and apply science and technology in planning practice, including planning preparation and implementation, urban management, land-use planning, urban design, transportation and infrastructure planning, heritage conservation, environmental management, participatory planning, legal frameworks, regional economic development, and policy formulation and implementation.
- Acquire knowledge of urban spatial structures and urban development processes, and be able to prepare and evaluate urban planning projects.
- Analyze multi-dimensional information related to natural conditions, social factors, environmental conditions, and economic aspects.
- Understand the environmental and social impacts of planning decisions on communities.
- Work effectively with local communities and stakeholders.
- Act as a mediator in resolving conflicts among different community interests.
- Understand the relationship between land-use regulations and urban services.
- Proficiently use BIM–GIS tools, graphic software, and specialized AI tools in planning and design practice.
