VIBRANT INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM AND WORKSHOP "CO-DESIGN STUDIO SU-PCU-TDTU 2026" AT TDTU

From August 23 to August 25, 2026, the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE), in collaboration with the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts (IFA) - Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), successfully organized the welcoming program and international workshop entitled "Co-studio design SU-PCU-TDTU 2026".
The program had the distinct honor of hosting delegations and international students from:
• Silpakorn University – Thailand (SU): comprising 04 lecturers (led by Ms. Apiradee Kasemsook) and 21 students.
• Petra Christian University - Indonesia (PCU): comprising 03 lecturers (led by Ms. Rully Damayanti) and 13 students.

The primary objective of the event was to facilitate opportunities for the University's students to interact and engage in cultural exchange with international peers, thereby enhancing their professional competencies and fostering personal development. Furthermore, this initiative significantly contributes to the University's overarching mission of elevating the quality of education and research, and expanding international collaborations, ultimately striving to establish TDTU as a premier international university.
Over the course of three intensive working days, the workshop's agenda proceeded dynamically and productively, featuring the following notable highlights:
• Opening Ceremony & Ideation Phase (August 23, 2026): The program was officially inaugurated in Room D605. Students from the participating universities were introduced to the Workshop's framework, assigned to collaborative groups, and provided with comprehensive instructions to prepare for the site survey.

Field Survey (August 24, 2026): Under the guidance of their instructors, the student groups conducted an on-site assessment of the designated project area in District 4. This excursion provided a valuable opportunity for students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, evaluate the urban context, and acquire essential data for their respective projects.

Strategic Discussion on Future Collaboration and Final Workshop Presentations (August 25, 2026): During the morning session, the executive leadership of IFA and FCE held a cordial meeting with representatives from the two partner institutions at the 5th-floor Library. The dialogue centered on exploring prospects for more profound cooperation in the future. Anticipated collaborative initiatives include recurring Co-Design studio activities in subsequent years; moreover, joint research endeavors between faculties, as well as faculty-student research groups, are highly prioritized. Additionally, various other cooperative frameworks were deliberated, alongside strategies for their expeditious implementation.

Concurrently, in Room F612, the student groups maintained rigorous efforts to finalize their projects and subsequently participated in presenting their conclusive deliverables.

The "Co-studio design SU-PCU-TDTU 2026" program concluded triumphantly, leaving behind an array of fond memories. The event not only fortified the bonds of friendship and solidarity among TDTU, SU, and PCU but also reaffirmed the prestige, educational excellence, and world-class academic environment of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts in particular, and Ton Duc Thang University in general. The resounding success of this workshop holds the promise of unlocking further extensive collaborative opportunities, thereby delivering substantial and practical academic projects for the students of all three institutions in the foreseeable future.
