TDTU Architecture Students Participate in the 2026 Field Study and Site Survey Course in Da Lat

From June 1 to June 4, 2026, the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Ton Duc Thang University organized a field study and academic excursion to Da Lat City for nearly 80 Architecture students and 8 faculty members. This annual academic activity is conducted in various localities across Vietnam, providing students with opportunities to engage with real-world professional environments while enhancing their understanding of architecture, urban planning, and landscape design.

As part of the program, the delegation visited and studied a number of notable architectural landmarks and urban spaces in Da Lat, including Xuan Huong Lake, Lam Vien Square, Da Lat Railway Station, Da Lat College, Da Lat Cathedral (Chicken Church), Bao Dai Palace III, Pasteur Institute of Da Lat, the Cadasa Historic Villa Complex, Lam Dong Museum, and Truc Lam Zen Monastery. Through field surveys, architectural sketching, and spatial analysis activities, students were able to directly experience the distinctive architectural, historical, and cultural values of the locality. These activities helped enhance their ability to identify, evaluate, and appreciate architectural and urban spaces within real-world contexts.

Upon completion of the course, students prepared reports and other academic outputs as required to summarize and evaluate the knowledge, experiences, and practical lessons gained throughout the field study. This serves as an important foundation for effectively connecting theory with practice and better preparing students for their future studies and professional careers.

The regular organization of domestic and international field-based learning activities reflects the Faculty of Civil Engineering’s commitment to a practice-oriented educational approach. These programs provide valuable opportunities for students to broaden their perspectives, strengthen professional competencies, and accumulate meaningful practical experiences while still at university.
