PROF. THAI HUU TAI (UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA) VISITED THE FACULTY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

On July 10, 2025, the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Ton Duc Thang University had the honor of welcoming Prof. Thai Huu Tai (University of Melbourne, Australia—ranked 30th in the world by US News) for an academic visit and exchange.
Members of the Faculty of Civil Engineering introduced Prof. Thai Huu Tai to the department’s organization and facilities at Ton Duc Thang University, including the Structural Engineering Laboratory in Building D and the in-situ laboratory for environmentally friendly materials.
Professor Thai Huu Tai delivered a presentation introducing the University of Melbourne, along with his primary research themes and those of his research group. The talk covered several engaging topics, including steel–concrete composite materials, prefabricated structural systems, experimental and simulation research findings, and the integration of these outcomes into updates of technical standards. The presentation attracted considerable interest from faculty members of the department, sparking lively, constructive discussions.
The meeting opened up several potential collaboration opportunities between the two faculties as well as between Ton Duc Thang University and the University of Melbourne in the future.
