Thematic Seminar - Vector Foiltec roof solution for natural light and large space for architectural building

Vector Foiltec roof is an increasingly popular solution in architecture and construction. Flexibility, resistance to heat, fire, wind loads and especially being 1/100 times lighter than ordinary glass materials, ETFE materials are increasingly popular for projects designed by famous architects. . At the same time, this material provides a large number of solutions for architectural design, having a certain importance in the current situation of development and construction of architectural works in Vietnam and the world.

With that meaning and importance, the Faculty of Civil Engineering cooperates with experts and managers of the Vector Foiltec brand to conduct the seminar for students of Architecture, urban planning and construction of the faculty.

In the afternoon of November 15, 2021, the Architecture Department of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized a seminar on “Vector Foiltec roof solution for natural light and large space in architectural building”. The seminar took place from 13h00 to 15h15 with the participation of experts, teachers and over 250 students of TDTU.

Presenting at the seminar were expert Matthew Penrose, British engineer, Executive Vice President for Asia Pacific region of Vector Foiltec group; expert Jean Yves LE GARZIC, representative of Farindo Trade Services Limited of Vector Foiltec group; Mr. Dang Quang Vinh, business manager of Farindo Trade Services Limited.

The seminar is an academic activity in the field of Architecture, Structure, Construction; aims to connect experts around the world to exchange knowledge about ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) advanced smart materials and structures. The conference is also an opportunity for PhD students and students of Architecture, Planning and Construction disciplines to approach and learn from world experts.

Expected outcomes from the workshop:

• Vector Foiltec Workshop will contribute to promoting research cooperation activities in the field of Construction, and Architecture between Ton Duc Thang University and domestic, foreign organizations and companies.

• The seminar brought many opportunities for cooperation in training, research, and academic exchange for the students of Architecture, Planning, and Construction of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
