Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Civil Engineering

On the afternoon of 10th September 2022, the Faculty of Civil Engineering (KTCT) Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) celebrated its 25th Anniversary (10th September 1997 - 10th September 2022). The attendees of the celebration were Faculty leaders, faculty members, staff, students, alumni and representatives of more than 15 businesses and close partners.

The opening of the program was the videos regarding the establishment and development of the Faculty of Civil Engineering with the topic “Faculty of Civil Engineering - 25 years is a journey”, and additionally, many pictures of the lecturers and students in the events over the past years were also introduced. From the early years, the Faculty only trained civil and industrial engineers, then expanded to train road construction engineers in 2000, urban planning engineers in 2005 and architecturers in 2013. Currently, the Faculty of Civil Engineering has 4 undergraduate programs, 2 master's programs and 1 doctoral program. In the past 25 years, the Faculty of Civil Engineering has trained many generations to dedicate their talents to the development of the country. 

Speaking at the Celebration, Dr Tran Minh Tung - Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering welcomed and respectfully thanked the lecturers and alumni who returned to visit the University and recognized and praised the contributions of the lecturers, officials, and experts in the field of Civil Engineering. Friendly partners have been collaborating and supporting the faculty for 25 years. Looking back on the past 25 years, the Faculty of Civil Engineering is proud to be one of the outstanding faculties in the university in terms of building and developing training capacity, research, technology transfer and international cooperation. The achievements are the motivation for each lecturer, officer and student today to continue to promote the good results of the previous generations, continuing to build together a strong team, promising many new achievements together with TDTU firmly reaching out to the future. On this occasion, the Faculty's close partners offered scholarships to outstanding students with a total value of 60 million VND.

The commemorative program was not only an opportunity to meet former lecturers but also helped students understand more about the history, the establishment and the development of the Faculty, and knew the knowledge and the skills required in the study process to meet the requirements of future jobs.  

The celebration took place in a solemn, warm atmosphere with many unforgettable impressions.
