GENERAL PLANNING SEMINAR URBAN CHARACTERISTICS - FROM IDEAS TO REALITY

Planners always gain knowledge, improve understanding, have a more comprehensive view of the surrounding issues and challenges. All knowledge should be shared so that all people can work together for a big goal to bring better quality of life for people.

Developing a city always has the challenges that people working in management and planning face them daily. Improper orientation will reduce urban development. Determining the appropriate urban character and selecting the corresponding urban functions is extremely important.

In that sense of significance, the cooperation of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Planning Department and the National Architecture Institute - Southern Architecture Center, co-organized the online general planning seminar " URBAN CHARACTERISTICS - FROM IDEAS TO REALITY" on Google meet platform of Ton Duc Thang University, on Oct 15, 2021. The speaker was Ms. Huynh Nguyen Tu Nhi, who always accompanies to Planning Department to train students of Regional and Urban Planning.

The seminar has two main contents, one is the theoretical basis about urban characteristics, and the other is the practical experience from the general planning project of Ho Tram Urban Area, Dat Do Urban Area, Ba Ria Urban Area, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province and Tan Bien Urban Area, Long An province.
