PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • Since 2014 until now: Head of Architecture Department, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam
  • From 1999 to 2014: tenure teacher at the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, National University of Civil Engineering, Viet Nam
  • From 2000 to 2005: Member of the research group on The high density of the districts in Hanoi. This is a co-op and development university project between National University of Civil Engineering and University of Laval, Canada
  • First prize in the Competition of magazine CANADIAN ARCHITECT - December 2002: Awards of Excellence 2002 for the project Québec City International Airport;
  • First prize in the Competition international: The 2001-2002 ACSA/STI Hollow Structural Sections DESIGN AND ENGINEERING CHALLENGE with the theme AIRPORT: Gateway to the City, organized by Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture - ACSA and the Steel Tube Institute of North America- STI (From January to May 2002);
  • First prize in the Competition international of architecture with the theme: “A world Fair in Shanghai-China in 2010”, organized by European University of Planning and Urban Design (France), the Shanghai Urban Planning and Design Research Institute, and the Shanghai Urban Planning Administration Bureau (From October to November 2000);
  • Registered Architect (Vietnam, 2005).

RESEARCH INTERESTS

  • Graduate & Postgraduate Teaching: Architectural Theory, Architectural Design of housing; Public building, Housing and urban morphology.
  • Research & Application: Sustainable Architecture Design; Smart Cities; Climate-Adapted Materials Research.

Research on sustainable architectural solutions for urban housing types. Focusing on social housing, affordable housing, low-income housing as well as residences for immigrants in the large cities.

Applied research and development of climate-adaptive materials, materials that are sustainable in the climatic conditions of Vietnam.

Study on smart city, aiming at improving the quality of life of urban residents in Vietnam.
